Painter, draftsman and teacher. Begins artistic studies with Yoshiya Takaoka, in 1945, attending live model sessions at the Associação Paulista de Belas Artes and at MASP. Three years later he participates in Group 15, with his teacher Geraldo de Barros, Tomoo Handa and others. In the 1950s, he lived in Paris, where he attended the Académie Julian and the Académie de La Grande Chaumière and studied drawing and painting with André Lhote (1885 - 1962). He does a solo exhibition of mosaics at the Bourdelle Museum. In 1952, he started a course in ravenna mosaic at the Italian Applied Art School, under the direction of Gino Severini (1883 - 1966). He participates in the team of mosaicist Lino Melano and creates murals in French buildings, based on models by Fernand Léger (1881 - 1955). Back in Brazil, he makes murals and works with Bonadei, painting landscapes of the north coast of São Paulo. He teaches drawing at the Faculty of Plastic Arts of Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado - Faap, between 1967 and 1983. In 1979, he created Ateliê 74, where he teaches drawing, painting and mosaic. From 1983, he dedicated himself exclusively to painting. He moved to Caraguatatuba in 1986, and created the Projeto Arte Litoral Norte, an artistic movement that includes exhibitions, debates, publications and videos.
