Brazilian, born in 1939

Egas Francisco Sampaio de Souza (São Paulo, 1939) is a visual artist, draftsman, set designer and Brazilian teacher. His first exhibition was in 1960, at Livraria Macunaíma, in São Paulo, with a presentation by Maurice Capovilla. He exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo, at the Udine Biennial, in Italy, exhibitions in Europe (Stuttgart, Milan, Frankfurt and Amsterdam). He has works in important private collections in Europe and America and in collections of museums and art galleries: Museum of Art of Murcia (Spain); Degli Artisti Laboratory (Udine, Italy); Pinacoteca Garcia Lorca (Granada, Spain) and “Amigos do Arco” (Madrid, Spain). Currently, Egas lives in Campinas and still participates in exhibitions and cultural events.
